About The Position

The Assistant Director is responsible for the overall administration of all operations and functions of Facility Departments including but not limited to: Central Plant, Co-Generation, Electricians, Plumbers, Painters, HVAC, Refrigeration, Upholstery, Cabinets, Construction, Maintenance, Welders, CAD, Auto Shop, Kitchen, and Landscape Department, in accordance with the Mission and Objectives of Pechanga Resort Casino (PRC), and in full accordance with all operational policies and procedures. FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by PRC.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree; a minimum of ten (10) years' experience in the operation and maintenance of an equivalent campus like facility; and six (6) years of supervisory level experience required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be used to satisfy these requirements.
  • This position requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • This position also requires the ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • The position also requires the ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • The ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors is required as well.
  • This position requires the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • The position also requires the ability to concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • This position requires the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • The position also requires the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and work with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Obtain and maintain a Class “A” gaming license.
  • EPA section 608 certification, type universal.
  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • Good organization and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all employees and facility management personnel.
  • Efficient with Microsoft based programs.
  • Positive attitude.

  • Ability to work under stressful situations.
  • Must be a self-starter who is highly motivated and resourceful.
  • Must be able to work with a positive attitude in a fast paced and culturally diverse casino environment.
  • Must be able to take direction and follow through with assigned tasks.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • CAD experience preferred.
  • Central Plant/Cogeneration facility and wastewater management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements an effective strategy for growth and efficiency of operations in the resort and casino for all Facility Departments within their area. May work with Director on development.
  • Regularly reviews and evaluates departmental performance, working through department heads to take appropriate steps in resolving unsatisfactory results or conditions.
  • Coordinates with the appropriate department heads in the development of operating budgets. Ensures that operations are maintained within budgetary constraints.
  • Ensures compliance with all appropriate laws and regulations.
  • Enforces performance standards, policies, and procedures as they relate to his/her span of control.
  • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the organization.
  • Maintains a professional departmental, company, and community reputation.
  • Responsible for adherence to health, fire, and safety regulations.
  • Plans, directs and evaluates all phases of property maintenance management, scheduled and non-scheduled, and all phases of property cleaning and housekeeping.
  • Monitors the performance of all Facilities related outside services and the execution of all maintenance contracts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
