About The Position

Manages the operation of the technical trade areas, which usually includes plumbing, heating, electrical, refrigeration and air conditioning, preventative maintenance, and water plant. Assistant Director of Facilities - Maintenance Frostburg State University (FSU), Facilities Department, is accepting applications for a full-time, exempt Assistant Director of Facilities - Maintenance is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience managing and supervising construction/maintenance activities and staff.

Comprehensive knowledge of and skill in the methods and techniques of the trades; of the OSHA regulations related to the trades.
Thorough knowledge of and skill in the practical application of electronics, hydraulics, and mechanics as used in maintenance work; of basic mathematics including area, volume, weights and the practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions; of the principles of supervision in the maintenance trades.
Skill in the care and storage of equipment and supplies; in the use and maintenance of the tools and equipment of the trades; in reading, interpreting, and working from blueprints, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to supervise and train skilled and unskilled employees in assigned trade(s) work; to plan and organize maintenance work; to determine sufficiency of cost estimates prepared by others; to prepare specifications for tools, equipment, materials.

Responsibilities

This position manages and supervises the daily activities of the Facility Maintenance Shops: Electrical, Multi-trades, Paint, Plumbing, Garage, Grounds, and HVAC Shops.
This position will work with other Facility Supervisors to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient campus.
