The Assistant Director of Clinical Services works in collaboration with the Program Director and/or Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Administrator to oversee and implement the overall mental health treatment program in the STRTP. Together, they are responsible for creating a safe, welcoming and sustainable environment for youth and staff. Requirements

  • Must hold a current, active California license in good standing as one of: LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, licensed psychologist, or board-certified psychiatrist.
  • At least two years post-licensure; must be eligible to provide clinical supervision per the California Board of Behavioral requirements.
  • Prior experience working with children/youth and families with intensive mental health needs.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a safe, healthy, and therapeutic environment at STRTP.
  • Ensuring that each youth admitted to the program has a mental health assessment.
  • Ensuring that each youth in the STRTP has commonality of needs with the other youth in the STRTP.
  • Ensuring the mental health services identified on each treatment plan are provided and appropriate to meet the individual needs of the child.
  • Monitoring the quality of the mental health services provided to youth.
  • Ensuring that documentation and recordkeeping requirements are met.
  • Providing direct supervision to licensed and unlicensed, board registered clinical staff (APCC, ASW, AMFT).
  • Working with program leaders to perform personnel functions for all staff, including overseeing hiring, professional development, evaluation, and termination.
  • Cultivating effective partnerships with applicable county offices, school districts, law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and other community providers, and facilitating effective training for partners, as requested.
  • Engaging in data-based program assessment activities to evaluate effectiveness and guide improvement.
  • Utilizing crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's Equilibrium model training. This may include intervening with the clients' behavioral program through physical management of the clients, if applicable.

  • Actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
