About The Position

It is the responsibility of the Assistant Director of Beverage to partner with the Food & Beverage Director to direct and coordinate beverage activities such as delivering quality products, maintaining established operational standards, effectively leading the team, and maximizing profits. He/she is expected to market ideas to promote business; reduce employee turnover; maintain revenue and payroll budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Requirements

  • Ability to manage employees, training, and coaching skills with evidence of developing exceptionally motivated teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English and articulate.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently, and cohesively, consistently producing quality results.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications required.
  • Minimum age requirement is twenty-one.
  • Must be able to obtain the following work cards: Non-Gaming, Alcohol Awareness, and a Health Card.
  • 5 years’ experience in a high-volume Food & Beverage operation, preferably in a Hotel/Casino environment.
  • One-year prior inventory/cost control experience.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
  • Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.

  • Bachelor’s or related degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, retain, motivate, evaluate, and manage beverages ensuring team members receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives.
  • Review activities in all venues to measure and improve staffing levels, working conditions and other matters which influence quality guest service and profitability.
  • Establish department standards, guidelines and objectives and maintain other administrative processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas.
  • Monitor and evaluate all reporting departments to ensure the proper planning for short and long-term strategies; monitors and evaluates performance of all restaurants to facilitate ongoing improvement of operations and financial return.
  • Review strengths and weaknesses of operations such as cost of sales, inventory par levels, and general policies and procedures to most effectively implement changes to improve operations and most efficiently allocate resources.
  • Ensure a neat, clean, and safe working environment in accordance with established health and safety standards.
  • Ensure employees have valid work cards while they are working and meet both state and departmental requirements concerning sanitation and personal hygiene.
  • Ensure adherence to the Culinary Bargaining Agreement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
