About The Position

The Assistant Director for Student Success supports equity and student services initiatives across the community college system, Supports the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of statewide initiatives related to student services. Helps gather data and feedback to support the evaluation of programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with agency and system goals while promoting continuous improvement in student success efforts across the state.

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication, human relations, and analytical skills including public speaking.
  • Experience working with private, state, and/or federal grants, including grant writing, reviewing, and managing.
  • Experience with instruction programs, instructional support services, or program evaluations at community colleges or other postsecondary institutions.
  • Experience in or adequate knowledge of career and technical education.
  • Experience in or adequate knowledge of the Illinois Community College system.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the coordination, communication, and monitoring of statewide initiatives related to student services, with a particular focus on supporting mandated campus liaisons, including but not limited to HOUSE Liaisons, Benefits Navigators, Undocumented Student Resource Liaisons, Veterans Coordinators, and Mental Health leads.
  • Coordinate convenings and professional development events to support mandated campus liaisons and other student services related areas.
  • Contribute to the administration of statewide grant initiatives, including those addressing mental health, homelessness, and student basic needs. Assist in developing work plans, tracking timelines, and monitoring performance measures to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Collaborate with community college staff, in particular mandated liaisons, to gather input, share information, and support implementation of policies and practices that improve student services.
  • Work collaboratively with ICCB staff and stakeholders to support the development and implementation of statewide initiatives related to student services.
  • Assist in the coordination and support of statewide student activities, including the ICCB Student Advisory Committee.
  • Support the collection and organization of reports, surveys, and contact lists to maintain accurate information and timely communication and assistance to system partners.
  • Assist with the implementation of the Developmental Education Reform Act by providing resources and coordinating convenings and professional development events.
  • Support student success initiatives and other duties as assigned by the Senior Director for Student Success.
  • Support the advancement of access, equity, diversity, and inclusion in student services initiatives within ICCB and across the community college system in student services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which may include occasional travel.
