Purpose of Position: Under general supervision, with some latitude for initiative and independent judgment, assists in the coordination and implementation of plans and practices for the presentation of the objectives and achievements of the System to the public and its employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelors' degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline
  • Two (2) years of responsible public relations experience involving the press and communications media, employee communications, community affairs, educational affairs, public information, corporate and business affairs, governmental and legislative affairs; or
  • Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in disciplines, as listed in “1” above.

Nice To Haves

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive digital communications strategy across social media, podcasts, websites, and emerging platforms to grow brand and new patient volume
  • Create original content and manage editorial calendars, ensuring all messaging aligns with healthcare priorities, public health standards, and brand voice.
  • Produce and oversee a branded podcast series that highlights healthcare topics, thought leadership, and patient stories.
  • Manage daily operations of social media accounts (Linkedln, Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, etc.), focusing on high-quality content creation, audience growth, and meaningful engagement.
  • Identify trends in digital communication, healthcare, and technology to recommend innovative strategies and media channels.
  • Work with external vendors, freelance partners, and agencies to support content production, podcast development, and campaign execution as needed.
  • Ensure that all digital communications maintain compliance with HIP AA and healthcare-specific communications regulations.
  • Create content and campaigns for digital signage located across the Gotham Health network.
  • Responsible for meeting with product teams, brainstorming concepts, producing, directing, shooting and editing videos for social media and the enterprise.
  • Establishes and maintains high internal quality by originating creative ideas, managing project timelines, adhering to Creative Briefs or written documents, ensuring consistency of strategic branding.
  • Communicate effectively with team members in a manner that is in adherence with HHC Guidelines
  • Role is onsite
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the establishment and implementation of goodwill programs to develop a better understanding of the Systems' policies, methods and achievements by the local communities it serves.
  • Informs the System leaders of the policies and practices concerning the preparation of public addresses and articles as it relates to the System.
  • Collects data to be used to survey the degree and nature of the acceptance of the Systems' policies and activities by the public, community and health care personnel.
  • Assists in the preparation of information regarding the System and its' health care settings for release to the public.
  • Acts as liaison to the appropriate agencies, community and employee groups to assist in the formulation of the Systems' information programs.
  • Performs other related duties, as directed.
