JOB PURPOSE: Pomona College seeks a dynamic and thoughtful professional staff member who will contribute fully to the operations of the Admissions Office and the Communications Team. The Assistant Dean manages virtual communications and marketing projects for prospective & admitted undergraduate students, parents/families, counselors, and community-based organizations. This will include communicating the value of a liberal arts & sciences education to diverse audiences through social media, virtual programming, a student blog, and co-managing the interns associated with each. This individual handles all aspects of student recruitment traveling throughout the year to represent Pomona College at school visits, college fairs, and other admission related programs. The Assistant Dean also serves as an Admissions Officer with responsibilities that include giving information sessions, overseeing all aspects of a recruitment territory, reading applicant files and participating in the selection of the new class. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Admissions & Transfer Coordinator, and under the guidance of the Director of Communications & Marketing, the Assistant Dean of Admissions will perform the following essential duties and responsibilities:
