About The Position

The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in leading a retail banking branch team to deliver Broadview's mission to benefit every member, every time, every day. This role involves supporting branch operations, enhancing member experience, and coaching and managing team performance. The Assistant Branch Manager helps create a productive and enjoyable work environment, ensures excellent in-branch member service, and provides regular updates to the Branch Manager on service matters and team performance. The position also entails promoting products and services, identifying referral opportunities, and motivating members to achieve their financial goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in Banking or related industry.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Signature Guarantee and Notary.
  • Ability to coach and motivate staff in member service and operational skills.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Flexibility to work out of any location at any time, based on business needs.
  • Ability to lift at least 10 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to operate in a rapidly changing dynamic environment.
  • Excellent oral, written, and auditory communication skills, as well as interpersonal interaction skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Business or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual individuals who are fluent in a second language in addition to English are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Branch Manager in bringing Broadview’s mission to life, ensuring in-branch member experience is second to none.
  • Provide the Branch Manager with regular updates on member service matters and team performance.
  • Serve as a member service standard bearer, promoting products and services, recognizing referral opportunities, and motivating members to achieve their financial goals.
  • Motivate, mentor and coach staff to meet branch and individual goals.
  • Mentor staff on financial literacy, support onboarding, and training on policies and procedures.
  • Deliver employee feedback, update Branch Manager, and provide recommendations for performance management actions, if necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of all current Credit Union products, services, policies, procedures, and NCUA regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with Credit Union policies/procedures, operations, and audits.
  • Monitor internal and external building and grounds maintenance to ensure positive and safe member and staff experience.
  • Oversee the ordering of cash, negotiable instruments, and other supplies, monitoring and analyzing appropriate inventory levels and justifiable spending.
  • Support a team atmosphere with a willingness to work in the trenches to do whatever it takes to get the job done right, the first time and on time.
  • Assist in branch scheduling, review timecards for accuracy, track attendance issues, and keep Branch Manager informed.
  • Perform special projects or other job functions, as assigned.
