About The Position

The Northampton Community College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has an immediate full-time opening for an Assistant Athletic Director - Event Operations & Facilities. This position will serve as the primary event administrator at all home athletic events and will be responsible for the maintenance, operation and management of the athletic facilities. The candidate will have experience in maintaining athletic fields and an understanding of the rules and strategies of athletic events played at the various venues. The role requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Other duties include serving as the primary contact with officials and opponents and overseeing part-time employee scheduling. This is a "hands-on" position that will require the candidate to perform various tasks such as lining fields, grooming baseball and softball, lawn maintenance, painting and equipment upkeep.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) approved Institutional Accreditor institution
  • Experience in maintaining athletic fields
  • Understanding of the rules and strategies of athletic events played at the various venues
  • Understanding of NCAA rules and regulations related to event management, field and facility setup to ensure compliance
  • Ability to function effectively as a member of the administrative team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Ability to pick up and carry 50 lbs.
  • Previous experience in overseeing athletic events, maintaining athletic fields and facilities
  • Ability to operate machinery required to perform athletic field maintenance tasks

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary on-site event administrator for all home athletic events
  • Be responsible for the maintenance, operation and management of the athletic facilities
  • Ensure that all home contests follow NJCAA, Region 19 and Northampton standards
  • Daily oversight and maintenance of all athletic fields and facilities
  • Prep facilities for home events, including scheduling of event staff
  • Liaison with officials and opponents
  • Serve as a liaison for athletic facility rentals/set-ups
  • Work with College facilities department regarding work-orders and facility set-ups for College events
  • Serve as the primary contact with officials and opponents
  • Oversee part-time employee scheduling
  • Perform various tasks such as lining fields, grooming baseball and softball, lawn maintenance, painting and equipment upkeep
  • Other duties as assigned
