About The Position

We are seeking a team-oriented athletic training faculty member (Full-time, 9 months) to join a dynamic inter-professional core of clinician-scientists in the Department of Athletic Training in the Congdon School of Health Sciences. This faculty member will primarily teach courses dedicated to Orthopedic Assessment, Optimizing Athletic Performance, and Evidence-Based Practice in the CAATE accredited professional Master of Science in Athletic Training program. Faculty members in the Department of Athletic Training are afforded a differential workload allowing for customization of expectations based on research expertise, clinical/teaching expertise, and service obligations. GENERAL INFORMATION: Through an innovative inter-professional education, research, and clinical practice model the High Point University Department of Athletic Training develops exceptional athletic trainers who are uniquely qualified to excel within a dynamic healthcare system. The Department of Athletic Training emphasizes evidence-based decision making and applied research, utilizes state-of-the-art technology and novel teaching strategies, and provides unique clinical experiences to cultivate professionals who embody sound clinical reasoning, professional ethics, honesty, compassion, primacy of the patient, and are advocates for the profession of athletic training. The Department of Athletic Training is housed in the Congdon School of Health Sciences which has a state-of-the-art medical education center including a gross anatomy lab, biomechanics and physiology laboratory, and medical simulation center. The Department of Athletic Training uses three on-campus athletic training clinics plus a dedicated musculoskeletal teaching laboratory. Requirements

  • Earned academic or clinical doctorate in athletic training or related field.
  • Current BOC certification.
  • Eligible for an NC athletic training license

Nice To Haves

  • a minimum of 5 years of full-time clinical experience.
