Bloomfield College of Montclair State University’s Creative Arts and Technology Program Area invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Game Design to begin August 28, 2026. We welcome applicants with diverse creative backgrounds who are comfortable teaching game design at all levels. We’re looking for a game creator with a portfolio of released work, whether commercial, indie, or artistic, who brings creative and technical expertise, adapts to diverse learning environments, and demonstrates innovative gameplay and storytelling practices. While this position’s focus is teaching and research, there may be opportunities to contribute to program leadership roles in the future, such as Program or Area Coordinator, depending on interest, experience, and program needs. Relevant areas of expertise may include (but are not limited to): game programming, extended reality, artificial intelligence for games, game design, game art and animation, narrative design, game history and studies, business of games, music for games, and spatial and interaction design. Faculty are expected to draw on their professional experience to foster an inclusive, supportive learning community and contribute to an evolving curriculum.
