About The Position

The Department of Accounting and Finance in the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in Finance (Financial Planning). The Cofrin School of Business prioritizes teaching excellence, a commitment to learner success, quality scholarship, engagement with the regional business community, and dedication to collaboration, institutional, community, and professional service. The successful applicant will contribute to a university, school, and academic unit with growing enrollment, and extensive regional business connections. Applicants will be expected to engage fully with the Cofrin School of Business’ Charles Schwab Foundation Center for Financial Wellness and collaborate with the Willie D. Davis Finance and Investment Laboratory. Candidates prepared to explore the intersection of human-centric planning and emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Finance, Blockchain, and FinTech are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will contribute to a young, growing, forward-looking college and department embedded within Wisconsin’s third-largest metropolitan area. Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in Personal Financial Planning, Finance, or Business with a specialization in Finance from an institution supporting an AACSB accredited business school.
  • ABD candidates will be considered; however, an earned doctorate in one of the above-mentioned fields from an accredited institution is necessary for contract renewal. ABD candidates will be hired into a terminal appointment at the rank of Instructor, with a rate determined at the time of hire. Upon degree conferral during the terminal period, the contracted appointment with the rank of Assistant Professor will be reinstated.
  • Evidence of a commitment to quality teaching
  • An ongoing record of scholarship, including peer-reviewed journal publications, consistent with the level of experience
  • CFP certification, or ability to sit for the CFP Board’s CFP® Certification Examination within 2 years of appointment
  • Evidence of engagement in institutional, community, and professional endeavors

Responsibilities

  • Teach a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in financial planning and finance.
  • Prepare students to successfully achieve CFP® and other professional certifications in finance and the financial planning industry.
  • Contribute in a significant and meaningful manner to the financial wellness initiatives of the Schwab Center for Financial Wellness, including building partnerships with firms, government, and nonprofit organizations to advance the mission of the Schwab Center for Financial Wellness.
  • Mentor students in the “transcripts to resumes” program.
  • Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank, including developing a strong research program involving collaboration with students and faculty.
  • Perform institutional and community service.
  • Contribute to ongoing program development within the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business.
  • Participate fully in the Austin E. Cofrin School of Business’ AACSB accreditation efforts.
