About The Position

The Quillen College of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry at East Tennessee State University is seeking a faculty member to serve as an Assistant Residency Program Director. The candidate should be Board Certified or Board Eligible and possess excellent communication and teaching skills. 501C3 non-profit that qualifies for student loan forgiveness through the Department of Education Activities include: Clinical care of patients combined with teaching and supervision of residents and medical students. Research and academic activities. Administrative support of the Adult Psychiatry Residency Program. Faculty rank and salary commiserate with education and experience. Some appointments may be eligible for tenure. Clinical and Research track appointments may be convertible to tenure-track no later than the end of year three of the appointment. We provide care to a large geographic region that includes northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Southern West Virginia, Eastern Kentucky, and Western North Carolina. Our region is located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains and offers excellent schools and a wealth of outdoor activities. Tri-Cities region is Tennessee's fifth-largest Combined Statistical Area with an estimated 521,528 people. Our region is located at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains and offers excellent schools, a low cost of living, and a wealth of outdoor activities. The beautiful Smokey Mountain National Park is in close proximity. Two major interstate highways, I-26 and I-81, serve the area. Requirements

  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Eligible for licensure in Tennessee
  • Must meet ETSU Health malpractice requirements ($5 million)
