The Department of Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona is seeking an open-rank tenured or tenure-eligible faculty member in medical speech-language pathology or audiology who will contribute to the department's research, teaching, and service missions. This is a 9-month (academic) position to begin in August of 2026, with rank (assistant, associate, full professor) commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include scholarship, teaching, and service. Inclusion of person-centered approaches to scholarship, teaching, and service is preferred, along with a publication record of high-impact research and a strong and sustainable funding record, appropriate to the level of appointment. The Department seeks faculty with expertise in a medical speech-language pathology or audiology (e.g., dysphagia, cognitive communication disorders, auditory physiology, cochlear implants). We welcome applicants with transdisciplinary research relevant to speech, language, hearing, and vestibular sciences such as artificial intelligence, data informatics, and research design and statistics. Research that addresses needs of a wide demographic breadth is preferred. The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences is renowned for its clinical training programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology as well as its active doctoral program. Our department includes 30 faculty, 104 graduate students in three degree programs (MS, AuD, PhD), and 208 undergraduate students.
