The hardworking coworkers of Electric Engineering Planning and Strategy ensure all manners of electric engineering including electric planning, standards, engineering, regulatory compliance, asset management and electric investment planning are in place to safely enable a strategic and stable workplan for our Electric Operations partners. Our organization is accountable for program planning, financial budgeting, and project execution and delivery of all electric engineering projects. Electric Engineering is comprised of approximately 2,000 coworkers. This role will involve a senior engineer’s guidance in developing proactive solutions for PG&E’s future. Specifically, the candidate will be exposed to asset risk management approaches and theories in a hands-on way by supporting the Distribution Overhead Asset Strategy Engineering and electric operations asset management teams. The candidate will be exposed to concepts in asset life cycle principles and basic knowledge of distribution conductors, support structures, transformers, protection equipment, and switching equipment. The candidate will assist a senior-level DOVHD Asset Strategy Engineer with developing, managing and improving performance of the electric distribution assets from a long and short-term, asset performance, capacity, and reliability, perspective. The Engineer will directly support improving asset system knowledge and threat identification by analyzing outages caused by distribution overhead equipment failures. This role will be responsible for updating and managing asset management databases. The individual will be expected to analyze these asset management databases to identify emerging threats and provide recommendations for system improvement. Additionally, the engineer will be expected to develop and implement continuous improvement of Asset Management Standards and Procedures. This role will occasionally be tasked with supporting miscellaneous engineering projects. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $24.52 to $35.37.
