About The Position

Assists in the development, implementation and on-going coordination of an asset management program. This position will optimize asset data collection for infrastructure, property assets, and Capital Improvement Projects to ensure accountability.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Business Management or a closely related field; supplemented by four (4) years of progressively responsible data or asset management experience in Public Works related projects; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Requires valid driver license
  • Must be able to operate office equipment, to include computers, copy/fax machines, and any related peripherals.
  • Requires the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Must be able to bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Must be able to bend legs at knees to come to rest on knee(s).
  • Must be able to bend body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
  • Must be able to move about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
  • Requires the ability to reach, extending hand(s) in any direction and able to handle, seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with hands.
  • Must be able to pick, pinch or otherwise work primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm.
  • Physical demands are essentially those of sedentary work.
  • Requires the ability to read a variety of policy and procedure manuals, work orders, logs, technical data, etc.
  • Requires the ability to use the computer and to prepare reports, correspondence, etc., with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar, using all parts of speech.
  • Must be able to speak with clarity, voice control and confidence and to articulate information to others.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical and scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; to interpret a variety of technical instructions in written, mathematical or diagrammatic form; to make independent judgments; to acquire knowledge of topics related to primary occupation.

  • Requires the ability to add and subtract totals, multiply and divide, use decimals and calculate percentages; determine weight; compute discount, profit and loss, ratio and proportion; interpret graphs; perform engineering and statistical calculations; utilize geometric and algebraic principles.
  • the ability to deal with people beyond receiving instructions.
  • Must be adaptable to performing under minimal levels of stress when confronted with an emergency or tight deadline.
  • Requires the ability to exercise consistent tact and courtesy when in frequent contact with various professionals, county staff, and the general public.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of experience utilizing databases or other tracking software preferred.
  • Experience with a county organization preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison with staff from other departments on assigned projects.
  • Observes, reviews, and analyzes processes to identify areas needing improvement.
  • Recommends and initiates procedural changes to expedite transmittal of information; facilitates implementation of policies and programs.
  • Maintains a variety of databases and filing systems; extracts data utilizing a variety of general and specialized software applications.
  • Identifies specific measures for improving existing asset management processes.
  • Ensures integration and input of new asset management data into the asset management software system.
  • Researches, analyzes and leads process review across the organization as it pertains to asset management.
  • Maintains the integrity of data within the work order and asset management system; reconciles data reports for accuracy and resolves discrepancies.
  • Assists in operations involved in the successful completion of major projects to include project costs and reporting.
  • Compiles a variety information for the department.
  • Provides financial support to include invoicing, lease management, and reconciliations.
  • Monitors periodic billing of work orders and ensures payment is received.
  • Verify work orders and tasks, enter contract and materials charged against projects and close work orders or tasks when notified of completion. Primary data entry for materials and vendor charges for work tasks.
  • Creates, completes and maintains work orders, correspondence and reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
