Summary: Sheet Metal Assemblers are responsible for light mechanical and electrical assembly of Lex’s products. Among the Sheet Metal Assembler’s responsibilities are (1) reading drawing and electrical wiring diagrams, (2) cutting cable to meet product and customer requirements, (3) joining the components into a whole product using point to point wiring instructions, and (4) assembling and/or soldering electrical components as per the drawings. Sheet Metal Assemblers are required to stand, bend and reach to perform they job. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Read blueprints, job order traveler, job order pick list and interpret shop drawings. Build to assembly standards in terms of quantity and quality. Use hand tools (i.e., soldering instruments, drills, saws, wrenches, etc.). Follow written and oral instructions. Perform hand and wrist assembly involving repetitive motion. Repair and rework assemblies as required. Work at different workstations as production needs require or shift from one station to another during the assembly process. Follow and adhere to all company and departmental procedures and policies. Maintain a safe and clean work environment (may require sweeping, mopping, trash removal) Communicate with managers, peers, and subordinates on a routine basis. Timely and accurately complete documentation and electronically record work in Floor Manager. Promptly report to supervisor all observations that are relevant to ensure a safe and efficient operation in the department. Use good judgment in performing tasks correctly the first time through. Provide input to help improve the performance of the department Maintain a good attendance record in order to complete work assignments. Perform tasks while complying with company safety policies. Work overtime as needed. Perform other duties as required.
