MSA Safety in Cranberry Township, PA is now hiring for Assembler Sensor Manufacturing associates for our manufacturing plant. Position is responsible for the assembly, modification, and rework of moderately complex combustible, electro-chemical and infrared sensors and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring, soldering, and connecting. Position is also responsible for testing and troubleshooting. Adherence to safety, housekeeping and quality standards as related to production and company objectives is required. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining production goals through productivity targets and cost containment by eliminating waste.

Requirements

  • Ability to: read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
  • Ability to: understand standard units of measure and to set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices.
  • Ability to: perform standard software operations including SAP.
  • Ability to: regularly perform work that requires magnification.
  • Ability to: concentrate for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to: infrequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to: infrequently stand in a stationary position.
  • Ability to: use power and hand tools, and custom tooling.
  • Ability to: work in a team environment and effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporary agency assignments.
  • Ability to: organize and prioritize work and operate at a level that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards for the work area.
  • Ability to: wear ANSI Z87 approved safety glasses, steel toe shoes, lab coat, sleeves, gloves, and other PPE as required per Job Safety Analysis.
  • Strong manual dexterity requiring fine finger manipulation and hand steadiness.
  • Willingness to work on various product groups and work flexible shifts.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 months manufacturing and/or other related experience (if lacking minimum months of experience, we will train you through our temporary agency before full time employment).

Nice To Haves

  • Past soldering experience (training provided if no experience established).

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test (including set-up), complex combustible, electro-chemical or infrared sensors and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring and soldering. Some troubleshooting required.
  • Pick material out of the warehouse.
  • Perform visual inspections and minor repairs and rework.
  • Complete and maintain relevant paperwork and input information in computer system.
