About The Position

Black Top Paving, a division of Journey Group is seeking a full-time Asphalt Paving Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be at the center of major construction paving projects in the Sioux Falls area. You will collaborate with an innovative team, manage key components of asphalt paving work, and see the direct results of your efforts.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field of study.
Minimum 2 years of relevant construction or project engineering experience.
Strong understanding of asphalt materials, processes, and paving equipment.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and blueprints.
Basic accounting knowledge to support project tracking and reporting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling/project management software.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Support daily operations of the asphalt paving crew.
Assist with field layout, preconstruction activities, and project management tasks to improve overall efficiency.
Partner with leadership to monitor safety, develop schedules, and manage quality assurance.
Engage directly with clients to negotiate agreements and maintain strong professional relationships.
Track and report project progress to ensure alignment with company goals and customer expectations.
