The College of Education is home to more than 1200 credential and graduate students. The College of Education’s work focuses on closing the opportunity gap. The College’s impact is notable given the fact that we credential the largest number of teachers of any public institution in the state of California and have the largest Ed.D. program in the CSU system. We seek an exceptional individual to join the Secondary Education department as the Asian Language Education Program Consortium Coordinator (Administrative Support Coordinator I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness. The Asian Language Bilingual Teacher Education Program Consortium supports opportunities for current and prospective K-12 teachers to obtain an Asian bilingual credential at CSU. The program is committed to supporting educational opportunities and successful career outcomes of credentialed teachers and teacher education candidates seeking Asian bilingual authorization, including, but not limited to: Vietnamese, Chinese Mandarin, Chinese Cantonese, Korean, Japanese, Hmong, Khmer, and Tagalog. By providing scholarships, the Asian Language Bilingual Teacher Education Program Consortium makes access to Asian bilingual authorization more accessible to current and future teachers, constructing a future that is respectful, inclusive, and promotes validity to Asian languages, the home language of many students in K-12 public education. Under the general direction of the CSUF Program Director for Asian Language Bilingual Teacher Education Program Consortium, the Administrative Support Coordinator I provides administrative functions and coordinates the operation, publicity and overall maintenance of the program. This individual plays a key role in providing administrative support to the program's faculty and students and is responsible for coordinating program activities, managing program databases, and communicating with partners and board members.
