About The Position

Under the supervision of the Principal of North Stafford High School, the Aerospace, Supply Chain, Energy, and Navigation Technologies (ASCENT) Specialty Center Coordinator provides instructional leadership and oversees the overall operation of a high school Specialty Center. This position is responsible for the overall planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of specialty center programs, ensuring they meet the needs of students, align with district goals, and maintain high standards of excellence. The Coordinator provides strategic planning and leadership, setting a long-term vision for student outcomes in high-demand STEM and technical fields: Aerospace, Supply Chain & Logistics, Sustainable Energy, and Geospatial Technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, with major or concentration in a relevant field.
  • Three (3) years of successful full-time experience as a school-based administrator is preferred, though substantial experience as a teacher, counselor, or central office coordinator or administrator may be considered.
  • Valid Virginia Collegiate Professional License or eligibility for the same.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of instructional and internship program planning, high school operation, and group dynamics.
  • Must possess considerable knowledge of the industry sector and labor market relevant to the center, including specific knowledge of the workforce needs and key competencies within the Aerospace, Supply Chain, Sustainable Energy, and Geospatial Intelligence fields.
  • Demonstrated skills in grant writing and management, budget management, event planning, and project management are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • A background in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related technical field is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience working in or directly with the Aerospace, Supply Chain, Sustainable Energy, or Geospatial Intelligence industries is highly desirable.
  • An endorsement in administration and supervision is preferred.
