About The Position

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced leader to own the Quality Management System for a precision manufacturing operation serving aerospace customers. As the AS9100/NADCAP Quality Systems Manager , you will guide a high-performing team, lead audits, and embed continuous improvement across the plant. A day in the life You start by aligning the day’s inspection, sampling, and test schedules. You meet with Operations and Engineering to clear bottlenecks that could impact quality or delivery. Your morning continues with a customer source inspection and a review of active SCARs. In the afternoon, you oversee preparation for an upcoming registrar audit, approve updates to QMS procedures and work instructions, and mentor a quality engineer through an RCCA on a recent nonconformance. You close the day by refining the quality roadmap for DFM and NPI initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of quality experience within machined or precision components .
  • 5+ years in a people-leadership role managing direct reports.
  • Expertise in GD&T and print/drawing interpretation.
  • Hands-on experience with AS9100 , ISO, and NADCAP audits.
  • Background supporting prime aerospace customers .
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to drive accountability while cultivating consensus and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership of an approximate 6-person quality team (quality engineers and inspectors): hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • End-to-end stewardship of the Quality Management System with full compliance to AS9100, ISO, and NADCAP .
  • Planning and execution of internal, customer, registrar, and regulatory audits .
  • Quality strategy development for DFM , NPI , and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Primary customer interface for quality topics including SCARs , source inspections, and audits.
  • Direction and hands-on support for FAIRs , PPAPs , statistical studies, and root cause/corrective actions .
  • Scheduling and oversight of inspection, sampling, and testing activities.
  • Governance of all QMS documentation , procedures, and work instructions.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Engineering, and Leadership to remove barriers to quality and delivery.
