About The Position

NEEDED: ART THERAPIST LOCATION: Old Hwy 75 Butner, North Carolina 27509 SCHEDULE: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM QUALIFICATIONS: Shall be a citizen of the United States Must possess, at a minimum, a master's degree in Art Therapy from a nationally accredited University or College and be registered and board certified by the Art Therapy Credentialing Board (ATCB). Have a minimum of two years of working/practicing experience as an Art Therapist. Shall have thorough working knowledge of DSM-V diagnoses, psychological treatment modalities and criminology. Will be required to possess and maintain Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certification, in accordance with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Bilingual oral communication skills in Spanish are preferred JOB DUTIES: Provide evaluation and treatment in accordance with specific treatment plans, and as required to participate in treatment planning to include the knowledge of human development, and the use of the creative process with models of counsel and psychotherapy. Facilitate self-awareness and self-expressions and provide therapeutic outlets by channeling stress into constructive means, develop social skills, manage behavior and aid reality orientation. This is accomplished by the use of various art therapy materials and techniques. Monitor effects of treatment and modify interventions as necessary to attain treatment goals and objectives. Document initial evaluations and monthly follow up assessments of all participating patients using the Bureau of Prisons Electronic Medical Records (BEMR) in accordance with local and national patient care guidelines. Maintain records in accordance with policy, institutional quality- assurance standards, and the Joint Commission Guidelines. If the applicant has pending litigation or administrative proceedings that may affect his/her license to practice or their standing as a fellow member in a professional organization, full disclosure shall be provided during initial interview. All required certifications will be maintained up to date. It is the Contractor's responsibility to assure their required certifications are up to date. Proof of any required certification will be provided by the Contractor. Informing the Health Services Administrator of any discrepancies or supplied equipment needs in order to provide the required service.
