Vaxcom Services LLC (A Parsons company) is looking for a cleared security professional to join our team as an armed security officer. What You'll Be Doing: Working eight (8) hour shifts that will include weekends and holidays at a 24/7 classified facility. Control access to facility by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting vehicles, and ensuring all personnel entering the facility have the proper identification. Responds to situations at the facility using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response by following established Use of Force Policy. Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents that may occur during day or night. Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity. Maintains proficiency and safety in the use of all assigned equipment, control devices, and weapon systems. Performing screening procedures including the use of Handheld Magnetometers (HHMD) and Walk-through Magnetometers (WTMD).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• This position requires a current/active SECRET security clearance.
• Strong observational and situational awareness skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Qualified candidates must possess at least 2 years experience in either Law Enforcement, Department of Corrections, Security, or the United States Armed Forces.
• Meet minimum qualification standards with the Glock 17 pistol, Shotgun, and Rifle.
• First Aid/CPR/AED or other emergency response certifications.
• FEMA Courses 100, 200, 700 and 800

Nice To Haves

• Previous commercial armed security officer experience working with access control, CCTV, alarm systems, and other related physical security measures/processes.
• Previous experience working in a classified facility.
• Possess Maryland Guard Card and Handgun Qualification License (HQL).
• Ability to de-escalate conflicts and handle difficult situations professionally.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
