Vaxcom Services LLC (a Parsons company) is looking for a cleared (SECRET) Armed Security Officer Shift Supervisor to join our team. In this role you will lead and manage the shift security operations of a team of armed security officers at a sensitive facility. What You'll Be Doing: Working eight (8) hour shifts that will include weekends and holidays at a 24/7 classified facility. Controlling access to the facility by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting vehicles, and ensuring all personnel entering the facility have the proper identification. Responding to situations at the facility using the appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response by following established Use of Force policy. Responding to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents that may occur during day or night. Observing and reporting incidents or suspicious activity. Maintaining proficiency and safety in the use of all assigned equipment, control devices, and weapons systems. Performing screening procedures including the use of Handheld Magnetometers (HHMDs) and Walk-Through Magnetometers (WTMDs). Providing on site direction and leadership to a small team during your shift. Interfacing with the Client at the facility to resolve issues at the lowest level. Collaborating with Program Management to keep them informed of facility issues and events.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • This position requires a current/active SECRET security clearance.
  • Strong observational and situational awareness skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Qualified candidates must possess at least two (2) years experience either in law enforcement, Department of Corrections, government or commercial security, or the US armed forces.
  • Meet minimum qualification standards with the Glock 17 pistol, shotgun, and rifle.
  • First aid/CPR/AED or other emergency response certifications.
  • FEMA courses 100, 200, 700, and 800.
  • Previous demonstrated leadership experience whether formal or informal to include mentoring/coaching.
  • Experience working with sensitive clients at their facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous commercial armed security officer experience working with access control, CCTV, alarm systems, and other related physical security measures/processes.
  • Previous experience working in a classified facility.
  • Possess Maryland Guard Card and Handgun Qualification License (HQL).
  • Ability to de-escalate conflicts and handle difficult situations professionally.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Previous formal leadership as a team lead, supervisor, or manager.
