About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Driver Patrol in Edinburgh, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond with calm, clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and you will also carry a weapon as required for the role. Requirements

  • Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Have at least 1 year of armed security and/or law enforcement and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications through site command channels and Allied Universal supervision as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Control access at gates and entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization, and directing traffic in accordance with post orders and government site requirements.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs regarding patrol activity, access control actions, alarms, and incidents, and communicate observations to appropriate site contacts and/or responders.
