About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Driver Patrol in Edinburgh, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond with calm, clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and you will also carry a weapon as required for the role. Requirements

Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
Have at least 1 year of armed security and/or law enforcement and/or military experience.
Be at least 21 years of age.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications through site command channels and Allied Universal supervision as needed.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
Control access at gates and entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization, and directing traffic in accordance with post orders and government site requirements.
Complete detailed reports and logs regarding patrol activity, access control actions, alarms, and incidents, and communicate observations to appropriate site contacts and/or responders.
