Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer supporting a government library location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service, document observations, and deliver strong customer service through clear communication. This post requires an armed guard card/license and a valid driver’s license, meeting AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff and visitors at a government library location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances, public areas, and restricted spaces; control access when assigned, and maintain a professional presence while observing for unusual conditions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, contacting emergency services, and/or coordinating with site personnel when required.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs of patrols, incidents, and observations; communicate relevant updates to Allied Universal supervision and/or site contacts.
