About The Position

Industrial Air Centers is seeking an experienced, driven Area Sales Manager to grow our presence in the industrial market through the sale of air compressors, compressed air equipment, and related solutions. This role is ideal for a self-sufficient sales professional who thrives on identifying new opportunities, developing territories, and building long-term customer relationships. The successful candidate will take ownership of their territory, proactively generate leads, and manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting and solution design through closing and post-sale relationship management.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of proven success in B2B industrial sales, preferably in air compressors, compressed air systems, HVAC, industrial equipment, or related technical products
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong background in cold calling, lead generation, and new account acquisition
  • Experience managing a territory independently and executing strategic sales plans
  • Demonstrated ability to present, negotiate, and close complex sales
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working autonomously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable with regular travel and occasional after-hours or emergency customer visits
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business within assigned territory
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, acting as a trusted advisor for compressed air solutions
  • Conduct on-site visits to assess customer needs, applications, and system requirements
  • Promote and sell industrial air compressors and various compressed air equipment
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, and system recommendations tailored to customer applications
  • Manage opportunities through the CRM, maintaining accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, and forecasts
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction
  • Stay informed on product capabilities, industry trends, and competitive offerings
  • Represent the company professionally at customer sites, trade shows, and industry events
  • Provide regular sales reports and market feedback to management
  • Meet established goals for territory development and sales quotas
