About The Position

Area Sales Director, Key Accounts, West Life. Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to join our Advanced Wound Management team as Area Sales Director, Key Accounts, West. This high-impact, field-based role will drive growth across our integrated selling organizations, leading a team of Key Account Directors and shaping our strategy in top-tier accounts. What will you be doing? As Area Sales Director, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing the Advanced Wound Management (AWM) strategy across high-priority accounts in the West. You’ll lead a team of Key Account Directors, drive cross-selling and contracting across the full AWM portfolio, and serve as the portfolio link for the business unit. This role requires strong collaboration with internal stakeholders and frequent engagement with executive-level customer contacts to build relationships and deliver results.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in business or related discipline; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 9 years of documented sales success in healthcare products
  • Experience managing teams and/or key account management
  • Prior experience with GPOs or aggregation groups preferred
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and project management skills
  • Ability to influence, collaborate and communicate with executive-level stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of the AWM portfolio
  • All field sales professionals who are required to gain entry into healthcare facilities to perform the basic remit of their role must successfully complete the credentialing process and comply with the requirements of those facilities they support, which can include adherence to any established vaccine protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, coaching and mentoring a team of Key Account Directors
  • Developing and executing strategic account plans
  • Driving cross-AWM contracting and value proposition messaging
  • Building relationships with influential clinical and economic stakeholders
  • Coordinating with SN Sales Leadership, Field Sales, Marketing, and Corporate Account Directors
