About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Area Safety Coordinator to join our team in Asheville, North Carolina. The ideal candidate is a dependable, organized, productive team player with the ability to work well with others. The candidate must also possess oral and written communication skills and knowledge of construction safety practices. This is a permanent, full-time position. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience of construction safety experience. OR Minimum of 3 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in construction management or occupational health.
  • OSHA 510 or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Once prerequisites are met, OSHA 500 will be required.
  • Able to travel within our Asheville service area.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure OSHA and company safety standards are being met on our job sites.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Coach employees regarding PPE, tool safety, and safe working practices.
  • Conduct safety related instruction during new hire orientation.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses and prepare detailed reports.
  • Prepare monthly reports for site accidents, motor vehicle accidents, site work hours, and mileage.
  • Plan and host safety meetings and assist the General Manager for the annual Safety Day.
  • Stay updated on the latest safety laws and industry best practices to ensure our safety programs are current and effective.
  • Other duties, as required.
