About The Position

The position oversees the daily operations of multiple business units within the Philadelphia airport. The position is responsible for ensuring and empower subordinate Assistant General Managers and Supervisors to maintain consistent leadership and food service excellence across two Subway airport locations and one WIN Kitchen location, while responding dynamically to operational needs. This role will provide operational support across all three airport locations and be able to function and perform duties across sites.

Requirements

  • To be successful in this role, the individual will need to have previous managerial experience in a quick-serve/ bar restaurant environment. Experience should include scheduling, inventory management, cash handling, and people management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in restaurant management, business administration, or a related field (preferred or a minimum of five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to successfully obtain TSA clearance and maintain a ServSafe and RAMP certification.
  • Will be required to complete brand specific training.
  • This role requires exceptional leadership and team development skillsets. As this role will be directing and leading teams, the candidate must have proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop culinary teams across multiple locations. This candidate must be skilled in building high-performance cultures focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Strong communication skills with the ability to work in team environments across departments is required.
  • This role requires a demonstrated success in identifying growth opportunities, developing new concepts, and new operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic leadership across multiple restaurant locations, ensuring each unit consistently delivers high quality guest experiences, meets brand standards, and achieves operational, financial, and service goals.
  • Builds, develops, and mentors strong management teams, including Assistant Managers and Supervisors by offering ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and leadership development to strengthen bench talent and support long‑term growth.
  • Ensures full compliance with all training, onboarding, and certification requirements by monitoring completion rates, reinforcing accountability with unit leaders.
  • Promoting leadership initiatives and ensuring participation amongst teams.
  • Leads change initiatives across multiple units, guiding teams through new systems, menu rollouts, and operational improvements with clarity, structure, and hands‑on support.
  • Lead on-site refreshers for sandwich artists and shift leads on food handling, storage, and customer service protocols.
  • Address common mistakes (e.g., improper labeling, expired ingredients) and provide quick corrective actions.
  • Drives operational excellence across all units by reviewing key performance indicators, identifying performance gaps, and support in implementing targeted action plans to improve efficiency, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
  • Champions a culture of continuous learning and development, encouraging teams to embrace new skills, follow best practices, and maintain a high level of readiness for operational and safety standards.
  • Conducts regular site visits and operational audits to verify adherence to food safety, sanitation, quality, and training standards, providing clear direction and follow‑up to ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Ensure food safety practices meet or exceed local health regulations and brand standards.
  • Monitor prep stations for cleanliness and cross-contamination risks.
  • Routinely collaborates with cross‑functional partners in HR, Training, Marketing, and Operations Support to align on business priorities, communicate updates, and ensure consistent execution across all locations.
  • Oversee weekly inventory counts and validate ordering schedules to prevent shortages or overstock.
  • Communicate with vendors and airport logistics to resolve delays or discrepancies.
  • Review portion control, presentation, and freshness standards across all sites.
  • Reinforce standard recipes and highlight any approved seasonal/menu changes.
  • Develop and implement food spoilage protocols to minimize food waste.
  • Ensures that cash handling protocols are followed. This includes auditing deposits and other cash reconciliations tasks.
  • Lead on-site refreshers for sandwich artists and shift leads on food handling, storage, and customer service protocols.
  • Provide insight and data on customer feedback, implement a feedback loop for sharing insights to customer satisfaction.
  • Collect insights from surveys and in-person guest interactions.
  • Share feedback trends with store managers to make service adjustments as needed.
  • Develops Pre-Shift Huddle outline.
  • Conducts Pre-Shift huddles with team members at the start of their shifts, encourages and trains Supervisors on the outline to conduct in absence of the Area Manager.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.
