About The Position

The Area Manager is directly responsible for the Profit and Loss within their assigned District, including managing weekly Accounts Receivable. This role involves significant field presence, requiring the manager to spend four days per week in the field with Territory Managers (TMs) to call on Stonhard customers, assist in presentations, and manage ongoing installation projects. Key responsibilities include hiring, training, developing, motivating, and shaping the image of Territory Managers, as well as conducting quarterly TM plan and review sessions. The manager monitors TM activities such as calls and quotes, measuring performance directly related to invoicing, and actively directs and secures Impact Projects. Daily check-ins with all TMs in the district are required. The role also involves compiling performance reports for the General Manager, invoice forecasting, and monitoring/reporting on installation performance and customer follow-up. Close collaboration with the CMG group/Installation crews is essential to ensure successful installations within the district, and the manager interacts with other departments to advance the sales cycle.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as an area sales manager or in a field sales manager job.
  • Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Outstanding written, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
  • Familiar with specific account base or general markets.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of Salesforce (SFA) and its uses.
  • Spend a minimum of 4 days per week in the field with TMs calling on Stonhard customers.
  • Outstanding negotiation and consultative sales skills.
  • A proven ability to manage projects and clearly communicate key project tasks.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business management, or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities
