The Area General Manager will oversee supervisors, leads, technicians, equipment, and materials to meet both daily production and long-term business goals in an electrical field service and breaker shop facility. This is a highly visible position, offering the opportunity to shape the future success and growth of the organization. The position is responsible for leading the business unit to deliver safety, operational, profit, sales, and customer KPI goals utilizing the IPS operating system known as CIPS (Continuous Improvement Process Solution). Overall responsibility for managing and growing the key value stream of field service and breaker repair. Requirements

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Electrical, Business or related technical degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in general management or operations in the power distribution industry highly preferred
  • 5+ years of electrical testing experience or power generation services highly preferred
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize projects, delegating when appropriate
  • Demonstrated technical acumen to manage complex field service business with diverse customer segments and multiple product lines
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record in managing and leading teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Deep understanding of the industrial service industry and its challenges
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and budgeting
  • Ability to adapt to change and drive innovation
  • A passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence

Responsibilities

  • Oversee supervisors, leads, technicians, equipment, and materials to meet both daily production and long-term business goals in an electrical field service and breaker shop facility.
  • Lead the business unit to deliver safety, operational, profit, sales, and customer KPI goals utilizing the IPS operating system known as CIPS (Continuous Improvement Process Solution).
  • Overall responsibility for managing and growing the key value stream of field service and breaker repair.

  • Develop business strategies, annual operating plans (AOP), and tactical execution to achieve objectives.
  • Monitor financial, sales, cost, operating, and customer service trends, making adjustments as necessary
  • This position has P&L responsibility for locations assigned and is a key member of the region’s leadership team
  • Drive operational excellence by leveraging the CIPS system to achieve safety, operational, profit, sales, and customer KPI goals
  • Optimize resource allocation and utilization to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
  • Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction
  • Implement innovative solutions and best practices to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers
  • Proactively address customer needs and exceed expectations
  • Drive continuous improvement in customer satisfaction and loyalty
