About The Position

The Area Director of Sales is responsible for overseeing and managing all sales activities within assigned market(s), as directed by the Vice President of Sales & Marketing. This role works in close collaboration with the General Managers of each property within the assigned market area. The Area Director ensures the success of the Sales team by providing strategic leadership, clear direction, performance feedback, and proactive support to meet departmental and revenue objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage sales activities for NPH properties within assigned market(s)
  • Create and maintain an office environment that fosters effective selling and strong customer advocacy
  • Lead hiring, training, and development of Sales Managers, Property Sales Directors (as applicable), and Sales Coordinators/Associates
  • Establish and monitor booking goals for Sales team members
  • Provide leadership to drive revenue and achieve property-level objectives
  • Guide Property Sales Directors and Managers in meeting performance expectations
  • Drive both guest satisfaction and associate engagement while ensuring departmental financial success
  • Lead the sales team in developing long-term, value-based customer relationships that support hotel sales objectives
  • Develop and implement annual sales and marketing plans for each hotel
  • Uphold and model the NPH Guest Service Principles
