About The Position

The company is seeking a creative and highly talented Senior Project Architect to lead transformative architecture projects and foster client partnerships. This position is based in AECOM's growing Cleveland and Columbus, OH offices. The ideal candidate will be a leader in design and technical excellence, driven by a passion for delivering quality work, mentoring staff, and leading multi-disciplinary teams. Leveraging recognized technical expertise and industry experience in demanding, design-driven projects, the Senior Project Architect will guide a wide range of project types and sizes through all phases of design, documentation, and construction. The Ohio Buildings + Places Team, anchored by large studios in Columbus and Cleveland, is a highly established and performing practice within AECOM's West Region. It serves a global client base including Public Non-Federal, Cultural + Civic, Higher Education, Science & Technology, Transit, and various Federal clients. The studio operates as a fully integrated, multidisciplinary entity, offering Architecture & Interiors, Building Systems & Structural Engineering, Urbanism, Planning & Landscape Architecture, Workplace Strategy & Advisory, and Digital Delivery & Technology Solution. Design excellence is a core value, reflected in numerous design awards received by Ohio B+P projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture plus 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Licensed as a registered architect

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a wide variety of production and visualization software including but not limited to: AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures
  • Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open office work environment
  • Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team, or multiple teams, in the design and technical documentation and delivery of a wide range of projects in partnership with the Project Director and/or Project Manager
  • Support the pursuit of exciting new projects
  • Prepare design and contract drawings using advanced design software tools
  • Develop solutions to a wide range of difficult technical problems
  • Oversee the work of more junior designers and architects
  • Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultant
  • Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials
  • Provide quality control reviews of projects in the studio
