As a core member of the Well Architected team, you will play a pivotal role in enabling the success of our customers, partners, and internal engineering teams. This position is central to fostering the adoption of best-in-class architectural principles across the Salesforce ecosystem. You will serve as a subject matter expert, leveraging deep technical knowledge and extensive experience to guide stakeholders in the design, development, and implementation of scalable, highly performant, and robust Salesforce solutions. Your primary objective is to translate complex business requirements into technical blueprints that adhere to Salesforce's architectural best practices.

Requirements

  • 15+ (ideally 20+) years of hands-on software development experience with a proven track record of designing, building, and delivering large, complex enterprise-grade projects.
  • Exceptional ability to independently craft and deliver strategic technical documentation, white papers, blogs and presentations.
  • Strong understanding of architectural patterns for highly scalable and resilient systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in architecting and implementing distributed systems, backend technologies, and cloud-native solutions (AWS, GCP, Alibaba experience highly valued).
  • A passion for innovation, with experience driving research, POCs, and integrating emerging technologies like AI.
  • Deep experience in setting long-term design strategies that span multiple complex projects.
  • Strong formal and informal mentorship capabilities, with a passion for guiding and developing engineering talent. You build an environment for clear and open discussion, involving the right people to resolve critical issues.
  • Comfortable working within short release cycles and the full software development lifecycle, with experience in publicly released, multi-release products.
  • Proficiency with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum).
  • A related technical degree is required.

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Guidance and Consulting: Provide proactive, hands-on architectural consulting and technical advisory services to a diverse audience, including executive leadership, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Best Practice Development: Continuously research, define, and disseminate best practices and reference architectures for ensuring Salesforce implementations are: Secure: By adhering to the highest standards of data governance, compliance, and platform security.
  • Maintainable: By championing clean code, modular design, and efficient technical debt management.
  • Performant: By optimizing data models, complex transactions, integration patterns, and platform utilization to achieve superior speed and reliability.
  • Scalable: By designing solutions capable of handling massive volumes of users, data, and transactions as business goals evolve and grow.
  • Alignment with Business Goals: Ensure that all architectural decisions are directly aligned with and enable the customer's overarching business goals, strategic vision, and desired return on investment (ROI).
  • Review and Vetting: Conduct comprehensive technical reviews and deep-dive health checks of existing and planned Salesforce implementations, identifying risks, bottlenecks, and areas for strategic improvement.
  • Content Creation: Develop and maintain high-quality architectural documentation, white papers, playbooks, and training materials to evangelize the Well Architected framework across the Salesforce ecosystem.
