About The Position

The Aquatic Supervisor will be responsible for providing direct supervision of all Lifeguards and Slide Operators.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • 1 years' Water Park Operations or work-related field preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must possess working knowledge of MS Office applications including Word and Excel.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to troubleshoot situations without delay and act accordingly
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including evenings, holidays overnight events and weekends
  • Must be able to maintain positive, respectful relationships and work effectively with all internal and external constituencies, including team members, community leaders and senior management.
  • Must have highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively.

  • Ability to adhere to terms of Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Training Program licensure

  • All Aquatic Supervisor applicants must successfully complete the Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Training Program prior to being extended a job offer.
  • First Aid and CPR training is provided during the lifeguard training class.
  • Must be able to pass these classes prerequisites for the lifeguard course include:
  • Swim 200 yards continuously using an approach stroke (break stroke or front crawl)
  • Retrieve a 10lb brick from the deepest part of the pool (6 feet)
  • Tread water without the use of their hands for 2 minutes
  • Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time. (Operation Hours)
  • Requires occasional reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling.
  • In the performance of job duties, the employee is routinely required to utilize manual dexterity, reach with hands and arms, and possess the ability to read, communicate verbally, and hear
  • The team member is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, push, pull, crouch, or crawl.
  • The team member is occasionally required to climb and work at heights above 100 feet.
  • The team member is occasionally required to sit or balance.
  • The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing, and speech.
  • The team member may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
  • The noise level is generally moderate to high.

Responsibilities

  • Perform responsibilities related to the Ellis and Associates Aquatic Risk Prevention Program.
  • Supervise lifeguards and slide operators.
  • Maintain rotations, break schedules, and daily position staffing.
  • Complete required paperwork in its entirety daily.
  • Assist with In-service training and other training functions as needed.
  • Conduct daily observational audits of lifeguards and slide operators.
  • Assist with in-park guest issues as they arise.
  • Maintain a high level of guest service and ensure that team members are as well.
  • Ensure team members follow-established guidelines for grooming, wardrobe, operations policies, and procedures.
  • Respond to any emergency situations.
  • Keep the Manager on Duty informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her/their attention so prompt corrective action can be taken when appropriate.
  • Adhere to all operating procedures as outlined in the water park standard operating procedures for the positions they are staffing. This includes but is not limited to completing morning safety checklist, operating attraction, cleaning area, immediately addressing any water park attraction maintenance concerns and/or stopping operation (if necessary).
  • Maintain an environment that keeps safety the number one concern for all guests and team members.
  • Greet guests, visitors, and team members in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Contribute to supervising and helping with park clean up, including parking lot pick up, etc.
  • Keep a clean orderly work area.
  • Resolves guest complaints and answers questions of guests, visitors, and team members.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ensure professional development to enhance work knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Maintain an environment where safety is the number one concern for all guests and team members.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, standards, guidelines, expectations, and requirements.
  • Ensure completion of work responsibilities and special projects in accordance with the designated time frame, as determined by the Aquatic Operations Supervisor.
  • Adhere to company ethical requirements, demonstrating the utmost integrity in all professional and personal matters.
  • Provide the Aquatic Operations Supervisor with feedback, ideas, and suggestions on a timely consistent basis.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
