Island H2O Water Park is seeking a detail-driven and organized Finance Assistant to support the Controller and Staff Accountant with daily financial operations at our Home Office. This role is essential to keeping our fast-paced water park running smoothly by ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing, and strong internal controls. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous Finance experience is a plus
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial software
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, high-volume environment
  • Must be able to maintain positive, respectful relationships and work effectively with all internal and external constituencies, including employees, community leaders and senior management.
  • Must have highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Controller with daily, weekly, and monthly financial tasks
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable with accuracy and timeliness
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card activity, and vendor accounts
  • Assist with payroll preparation by collecting and verifying timekeeping data
  • Maintain organized financial files and digital documentation
  • Help track budgets, monitor expenses, and prepare variance reports
  • Prepare and distribute internal financial reports as needed
  • Assist with month end and year end closing processes
  • Support internal and external audits by gathering required documentation
  • Review invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports for accuracy and compliance
  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding financial inquiries
  • Uphold financial policies and internal control procedures
  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance Department
  • Perform other finance related duties as assigned by the Controller
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
