About The Position

Manages the implementation, development and delivery of various program area(s) and/or membership. Areas of focus may be health/wellness, aquatics, teens, childcare, and/or other program area(s). Recruits, trains and supports assigned staff and volunteers. Additional responsibilities include hiring, onboarding and training of staff; curriculum development; budget control; and adhering to all regulatory and Association standards. Assists with annual campaign activities. Considers the size, scope, and budget of program area(s) and branch volume in classification. Requirements

  • Four-year college degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum of two years of work experience
  • Experience directing programs through supervision of volunteers and staff
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English
  • Completing and maintaining active Ellis Lifeguard certification within 30 days of onboarding.
  • Completing and maintaining active Ellis Lifeguard Trainer certification within 6 months of onboarding
  • Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
  • The employee needs sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to safely supervise program activities.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
  • The employee frequently is required to sit and reach and must be able to move around the work environment.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to hear signals of distress in the Aquatic environment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and manages operating plans and delivery to promote program and/or membership growth for the YMCA.
  • Executes strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
  • Assists in developing and controlling department budgets related to the position as requested by management.
  • Hires, Trains, Onboards and supervises part-time and full-time hourly staff and volunteers in assigned areas.
  • Facilitates communication and provides leadership to staff.
  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Ensures that program and Association standards are met, and safety procedures are followed.
  • Ensures implementation of high-quality programs through innovative program development, evaluations and ongoing training of staff.
  • Coordinates special events and activities.
  • Interfaces with and resolves member concerns to further member engagement.
  • Provides data, rosters, schedules, and reports as required for assigned programs.
  • Play key role in branch Annual Campaign
  • Manage payroll for assigned department
  • Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
