About The Position

The Application Programmer is an entry-level professional who assists in the development, testing and maintenance of software applications. Working under the supervision of other more senior programmers, a programmer gains hands-on experience in the whole software development lifecycle. License Level: This is a gaming level position and requires a gaming license. Nothing in this job description shall be interpreted to allow this position to make discretionary decisions or long-range policy determinations that impact gaming facility operations

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the applicable statute, rules and regulations.
• The programmer must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time as necessary to complete job assignments and job duties.
• The programmer must have the ability to lift 10 lbs.
• The programmer must be proficient in C#, C++ and Java.
• The programmer must be proficient with SQL, especially for IBM DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server.
• The programmer must have experience using Git, a version control system.
• The programmer must have analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• The programmer must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The programmer must demonstrate good programming skills.
• The programmer should have strong attention to detail.
• The programmer must be at least 18 years old and have a diploma or higher in computer science, software engineering or information technology.
• The programmer should know general programming skills, software algorithm design, software performance tuning, software development lifecycle, software design, software debugging, software development, software documentation, software testing
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals and other related documents.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries from other Team Members or guests.
• Fluency in English required.
• Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to compute complex mathematical calculations.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to decipher various reports and maintains reports upon request with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and review various sources to produce comprehensive specifications that describe project requirements for applications that meet business needs.
• Writes, tests, and debugs code for software applications under the guidance of others in the programming and applications team to meet requirements.
• Identifies and fixes defects in applications to ensure proper function and good performance in applications.
• Conducts training and prepares user documentation for users to ensure correct and efficient usage of applications.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies; engaging in self-directed learning.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
