About The Position

The Application Systems Analyst (ASA) II consults with management and other technical partners to help research, design, develop, and implement software to fit clients' needs. This position must provide accurate, quality analyses of new program applications, as well as conduct testing, identify potential problems, and solve them in an efficient manner. The ASA II will also target areas for modification in existing programs that drive automation and efficiencies, and subsequently develop these modifications. This position demonstrates a more advanced level of technical proficiency overall and utilize these skills to lead smaller as well as mid-sized initiatives.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates knowledge of revision control systems (e.g., SCM, SVM, etc.).
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, patience, and understanding in stressful situations.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret various technical reference manuals relating to software and computer equipment.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in written form, in person, presentation, on the telephone, and through email.

  • Five (5) years of programming/development and/or server/hardware experience.
  • Two (2) years of working with an ERP/CRM technology.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.
  • Ability to travel between campuses for meetings or position responsibilities.
  • Must pass background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Management of Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Agile certification.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification.
  • Experience in Higher Education a plus.
  • Experience with C#, JavaScript, VB.NET, Visual Studio, ASP.NET, Basic, Unibasic, and/or Uniquery.
  • Experience with MS365 technology including My SQL, MicroSoft Dynamics CRM, O365, SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, etc.
  • Experience with ITIL, project management, and/or database management practices.
  • Knowledge of the various phases of testing preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Canvas LMS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, documents, analyzes, creates, tests and modifies computer systems, programs and integrations.
  • Leads small scale technical design and development initiatives, documenting all functionality and associated requirements along with aiding in implementation.
  • Applies system-analyst techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software or systems functional specifications.
  • Installs, configures, sets permissions and manages licenses.
  • Addresses complicated programming issues escalated by Application Systems Analyst I and/or leadership.
  • Develops and maintains applications and databases by evaluating client needs; analyzing requirements; developing software systems.
  • Arranges project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; prepares work flow charts and diagrams using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.
  • Incorporates more advanced programming techniques by encoding project requirements in computer language; entering coded information into the computer.
  • Analyzes user information system needs, proactively addressing potential gaps and developing alerts to sustain optimal functionality of product offerings.
  • Researches, evaluates, and recommends solutions and appropriate technology to meet user's needs.
  • Trouble shoots complex software/hardware issues and manage installation and upgrades.
  • Collaborates with leadership, vendors, and Sr Application Systems Analysts as needed to ensure current releases, patches, and versions are managed on all systems, hardware, and software.
