About The Position

Forward thinking, team player with a focus on ensuring IAS business critical applications and processes run effectively and efficiently. This role requires excellent technical & communication skills in working with IT or business staff to understand and support business processes. The successful candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 3 years work experience in an IT Application Support role
  • An understanding of basic network, application and workflow troubleshooting in a modern IT environment.
  • Software experience is desired in the following systems: SQL Server – should be able to write T-SQL queries easily and quickly.
  • Ability to read and manipulate common data files such as XML, JSON and flat files.
  • Working knowledge of ActiveBatch or similar scheduling package.
  • Basic understanding of automated workflow preferred
  • Visual Basic and C# familiarity – should be able to load and run Test Harnesses written in C# or VB; should be familiar with .NET testing tools including Visual Studio, VS Code and SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Web languages, some basic understanding of HTML, javascript, and possible CSS is desired.
  • Understanding API’s and a basic understanding of API tools such as Swagger and SoapUI.
  • Working knowledge of Acrobat and Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Microsoft Team Foundation Server
  • Understanding of Insurance, specifically Medicare Supplement Benefits
  • Operations and Application Support is interrupt-driven and often requires multi-tasking and keeping track of multiple open items at one time. Often issues will be time-sensitive, and there can be pressure to quickly find a solution; the successful applicant must be comfortable in a client service environment, and able to provide a courteous and prompt response to clients in both written and verbal communications.
  • Production Support is a constantly changing job, with new challenges every day. The most apt personality for this job is someone who likes solving puzzles, is good at deducing the root cause of a problem and quickly developing a solution for it. In many cases, the solution may involve interaction with other departments, both IT and Business.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup and configuration of environments, and other application support tasks
  • Responsible for supporting .NET Applications including Web Portals; Web Site built on .NET Core; API Web Server built on .NET Standard and a host of other Microsoft .NET Applications
  • Responsible for facilitating and troubleshooting daily production jobs and automated workflows with the following applications: Correspondence and print daily jobs; Administrative system batch processing; Administrative support with automated workflow distribution tool; Administrative support with other various third-party tools, as needed
