About The Position

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is hiring an Application Manager to lead our Reporting, ETL & Business Intelligence Dashboards team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance and modernization of enterprise reporting and dashboard capabilities using modern data engineering tech, cloud-based strategies, and ETL/integration frameworks. Our ideal leader in this role will bring: Proven Leadership in Modernization Demonstrated experience leading teams through reporting technology consolidation and modernization initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business goals. Strong proficiency in SQL, coupled with deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, and ETL/ELT processes for scalable and efficient data pipelines. Cloud Data Strategy Expertise Hands-on experience in defining and executing cloud data strategies leveraging platforms such as Google BigQuery or Microsoft Fabric, including migration planning and optimization. Experience managing competing priorities in support of operational and analytical business requirements Proficiency with PowerBI and visualization technologies Excitement around (and experience experimenting with) leveraging AI for efficiency and problem-solving It would be great if you also had: BI & Visualization Tools experience Experience with leading data visualization and BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, and Looker, including advanced dashboard design and performance tuning. Healthcare Data Domain Expertise Familiarity with healthcare data ecosystems, including claims, membership, authorizations, and care management datasets, and understanding of regulatory compliance (HIPAA, etc.) Note: Sponsorship is not available for this role. Travel to our Chattanooga, TN headquarters for final interviews may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Sciences related field or equivalent work experience
  • 8 years - Extensive systems analysis, design and project management experience required.
  • 3 years - Management and/or leadership experience required
  • Proven technical background with a history of relational database and data warehousing technologies.
  • Ability to design and develop using service oriented architecture and object oriented architecture design patterns
  • Proven skill with information technology in use at BCBST is required
  • Ability to conceive and deliver innovative solutions
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills and ability to perform non-routine analytical tasks
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical co-workers
  • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking, with strong abilities in relationship management
  • Demonstrated ability to work with vendors, including discussions for contracts, price negotiation, and budgeting

  • Monitoring and maintaining adherence and compliance to quality standards on an ongoing basis.
  • Overseeing multiple application programming and analysis projects which include development, installation and maintenance of application programs.
  • Maximizing staff contribution through professional growth and development, to increase teamwork and more effectively meet business needs.
  • Analyzing applications to ensure that all systems that are developed, meeting business needs and specifications.
