About The Position
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks an enthusiastic student eager to support SEL's Application Engineers and customers on SEL's industrial computers through hands-on exposure and interactions. As an Application Engineering Intern, a typical day might include the following: Provide support for communication/automation/protection test beds. Perform testing on existing and new technology. Document test bed activities and results. Support Sales and Customer Service and product development activities related to communication/automation/protection. Support applications engineers to develop best practice application guides for SEL technology that provide secure and compliant solutions.
Requirements
- Current student pursuing a degree in Software Engineering or Management Information Systems
- Self-motivated/self-starter
- Windows and Windows Server system administration (Linux administration is a bonus)
- Familiarity with networking (IP, TCP/UDP, DNS, DHCP, multicasting, etc.)
- Enjoy fixing or repairing computers as a hobby
- Knowledge and/or hands-on experience with computer automation
Responsibilities
