About The Position

If you are an Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you. As an Application Engineer, you will be the primary technical resource for our Emerson Impact Partners and customers and are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the quote process and ensuring the order reflects the quote. Working in conjunction with our Impact Partners as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the quote process. The Application Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with our Impact Partners and customers.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to real-world customer applications
  • Comfort working collaboratively with customers, partners, and cross-functional teams

  • Background or experience in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the engineering and selling of products and serve as liaison between the Impact Partner and all factory departments
  • Maintain proficient level of product knowledge and application.
  • Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users
  • Provide design and specification development support to Impact Partners and customers
  • Listen, understand and convey customer requirements
  • Perform technical/ product training for Impact Partners and customers
  • Assist in the design and development of new products and tools as necessary
  • Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence
  • Help to resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives
  • Promote corporate image by preparing and presenting technical papers, participating in trade shows and exhibits, and developing good customer relationships
  • Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects
  • Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth
  • Other tasks assigned by manager
