To enhance our successful Application Engineering Team in San José (CA), we are looking for a passionate Application Engineer Specialist We are looking for an experienced, self-driven and result-orientated Application Engineer Specialist to join our growing Application Engineering Team in San José (CA). In this role, you will act as the main point of contact for all technical matters in relation to defined customers and functions within AT&S.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Materials and Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience as an Application Engineer Specialist, Materials Research Engineer, or related occupation.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing; printed circuit boards; substrate manufacturing; HDI printed circuit board manufacturing in individual market segments (mobile devise and substrates).
  • Experience working with international markets and international focus groups; and technology trends and connections.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced technical initiatives and complex projects, as well as representation of the AT&S group towards the specific AT&S key account counterparts.
  • Serve as the main contact in all technical related exchanges between AT&S large key account Engineering departments and related functions within the AT&S group.
  • Ensure daily business and recognize, identify, and communicate technical trends and needs, potentially outside of AT&S current scope.
  • Understand, collect, and maintain technical feature and system demands from dedicated AT&S key accounts and potential market trends overall on highly complex and industrial leading initiatives.
  • Perform preliminary feasibility checks, plant allocation, calculations, and identification of potential cost savings.
  • 20% international travel required and telecommuting permitted from within the U.S.
