About The Position

As an Application Automation Intern, you will partner with engineers and analysts to support automation solutions that improve application reliability, deployment speed, and operational efficiency. You will gain hands-on experience across continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), scripting, and DevOps practices while contributing to work that supports scalable, consistent application delivery across teams.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience through coursework, internships, academic projects, military experience, or related hands-on experience in application automation, software development, DevOps, or IT operations.
  • Experience developing scripts or automation tasks using Python, PowerShell, Bash, Groovy, or similar scripting languages for deployment, configuration, or operational support.
  • Experience using version control tools such as Git for source code management, collaboration, and change tracking.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or Harness.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, containers, or infrastructure automation such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Docker, or Terraform.
  • Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Bitbucket.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint for reporting, documentation, or presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining automation workflows for application deployments and operational tasks.
  • Support CI/CD pipeline implementation and enhancements using industry-standard tools.
  • Collaborate with engineers and analysts on automation initiatives across development, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Participate in code reviews to help ensure automation scripts meet quality, security, and performance standards.
  • Document automation processes, deployment standards, and runbooks to support repeatable execution and knowledge sharing.
  • Analyze manual processes and identify automation opportunities that improve efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Contribute ideas during design and technical discussions to support continuous improvement of automation practices.
