About The Position

This position is responsible for performing standard-level work to support assigned information technology applications. Responsibilities include participating in the planning, design, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of application solutions, as well as providing day-to-day operational support to ensure system reliability, performance, and end-user satisfaction. Applications may support a wide range of clinical, financial, and administrative functions, including but not limited to electronic health records, registration, scheduling, billing and collections, laboratory and pathology, radiology and imaging systems (including PACS), cardiovascular systems, pharmacy, home care, long-term care, population health, consumer and patient-facing technologies, enterprise resource planning, workforce scheduling, time and attendance, and customer relationship management platforms. The Staff Application Analyst is responsible for providing technical support, configuration, and ongoing maintenance for assigned healthcare applications and related technologies throughout their full lifecycle. This includes application selection, implementation, optimization, support, archival, and decommissioning. The role may also manage small to mid-sized projects related to these applications and technologies. As required, the analyst maintains applicable certifications (e.g., Epic). This position performs essential functions independently under minimal supervision. The caregiver is expected to carry out standard duties with limited direction while exercising sound judgment and initiative.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, Excel (pivot tables), Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word
  • Possesses in-depth business and application knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of system analysis and operating systems
  • Skilled in assessing needs and determining through documentation what the best approach might be
  • Skilled at problem definition and data collection by establishing facts, drawing valid conclusions
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general industry periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Two (2) years of related work experience or Actively working toward a bachelor’s degree with four (4) years of experience in a related field
  • Requires certification in one or more Epic applications and ongoing maintenance of certification, as applicable

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare, Business, or a related field
  • Imaging application experience
  • Epic Analyst experience with active certification
  • Experience supporting electronic medical record (EMR) systems is strongly preferred
  • Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree with Supervisory and Human Resources approval

Responsibilities

  • Provides application and technical support by analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving incidents, issues, and problems in accordance with established service levels and department standards.
  • Works with stakeholders to gather, validate, and translate business and technical requirements into clear design and development specifications, while supporting product management activities.
  • Configures, tests, installs, implements, monitors, and maintains common to complex systems, including applications, workflows, processes, and related hardware.
  • Documents current and future-state workflows and recommends technical and functional design solutions to support business needs.
  • Partners with external vendors to support third-party applications, including integration, implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.
  • Serves as a project manager for small to mid-size projects involving multiple teams and completes related project management functions.
  • Collaborates effectively with peers, internal stakeholders, external partners, and vendors to achieve project and operational goals.
  • Adheres to documentation, change management, and configuration management standards.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of testing plans and test scripts to validate system functionality, outputs, and integrity.
  • Participates in the creation and delivery of training materials and knowledge-based documentation for peers, end users, and other team members.
  • Configures and integrates electronic and mechanical hardware with software solutions to meet defined functional requirements.
  • Develops an understanding of business reporting needs and supports reporting solutions for end users.
  • Participates in on-call rotations and command center activities, as applicable.
  • Attends and actively participates in team, project, and department meetings to promote communication, collaboration, and information sharing.
  • Works with project requesters to define and deliver minimum viable products (MVPs) for requests submitted in ServiceHub.
  • Requests and coordinates resources for projects and enhancement efforts using the ServiceHub Resource Planning process
