About The Position

Clyde & Co is seeking an appellate attorney specialist to support its trial & defense practice in handling matters in federal and state appellate courts and trial courts across the Firm. This practice includes catastrophic injury cases, bodily injury, complex business and commercial litigation, premises liability, insurance coverage, bad faith and fraud, UM/UIM, class action and mass tort, government tort claims, public entity liability, civil rights litigation, and trucking and transportation matters. The ideal candidate will be proficient in analyzing and framing factual and legal issues within the context of appellate standards of review and experienced in presenting oral arguments. Requirements

  • Admission to the California Bar
  • 15+ years of appellate experience
  • Exceptional legal writing and communication skills
  • Ability to handle time sensitive matters, sometimes several simultaneously
  • Ability to handle matters of a highly sensitive nature
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly

Nice To Haves

  • Certified as an Appellate Law Specialist preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex and rigorous legal research and analysis, and draft memoranda
  • Prepare and review pleadings, memos, briefs, discovery, motions with supporting briefs and other correspondence
  • Review and analyze trial records and other documents
  • Manage and supervise associates and paralegals
