About The Position

Beth Israel Lahey Health is opening a new Urgent Care clinic in Middleboro, MA, and is seeking experienced Advanced Practitioners (NP/PA) to staff this location. The role involves performing thorough physical examinations, obtaining complete physical history, maintaining patient records, evaluating and interpreting data to ascertain preliminary diagnoses and make therapeutic plan recommendations, administering medication and injections, obtaining specimens for lab analysis, scheduling and preparing patients for diagnostic testing, and providing instructions to patients, families, and care providers. The successful candidate will be dedicated to delivering outstanding care and customer service, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to function autonomously in the care of challenging patients. Requirements

  • Graduate of a Master’s in Nursing program or a Physician Assistant program
  • Certification and current NP or PA license to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • DEA MCSR
  • Received some formal training in suturing
  • Comfortable practicing in a fast-paced urgent care setting
  • Dedicated to the delivery of outstanding care and customer service to patients and their families
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function autonomously in the care of challenging patients
  • Vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment

  • Experience as an NP in urgent care or another type of emergency care

Responsibilities

  • Performs thorough physical examinations while obtaining complete physical history
  • Maintains patient record and relevant statistics by documenting patient information and care provided
  • Evaluates/interprets data in an effort to ascertain preliminary diagnoses and to make therapeutic plan recommendations
  • Administers medication and injections in compliance with state law and employer guidelines
  • Obtains specimens for lab analysis, schedules and prepares patients for diagnostic testing
  • Provides instructions to patient, family and care providers relative to required medications, acts as a care advocate in providing recommendations
